History
Redemption
Outreach Center (ROC) was founded in 1991 by Pastors Ron and Hope Carpenter.
When the ministry began, there were only three members. The first service was
held in a cinderblock warehouse on Thousand Oaks Boulevard. ROC met there for
three years until God blessed them with their first building on 74 Byrdland
Drive. Shortly after this relocation, the congregation grew to over 200
members.
With
outreach as its focus, souls were being saved weekly. The church soon added a
second Sunday service. The name Redemption Outreach Center was changed to
Redemption World Outreach Center because the church had extended it arms to
people throughout the United States and the World. The current membership is in
excess of 14, 000.
In addition
to weekly television programs, RWOC has received national attention for its
innovative worship style. The Church was featured in the July 2001 issue of
Charisma Magazine. The article was, "Breakthrough in the Bible Belt.”
God has
truly blessed the evangelistic ministry of RWOC where hundreds of souls are
being brought into the Kingdom of God each year. RWOC is now holding multiple
services in its 4,200 seat sanctuary, as well as its satellite campus in
Asheville, NC.
